Dear all My return flight from Tel Aviv to Frankfurt operated by Israeli carrier departed with 7.55 hours delay Can you please confirm that as per Israeli Civil Aviation Services Law, it is my right to have the amount of the return ticket refunded as the flight departed with a delay between 5 and 8 hours ? One can not get a refund for a flight one eventually took in those circumstances accoring to Israeli law .

Under which circumstances the passenger is eligible for a refund between 5-8 hrs delay then? I am referring to an article appeared on HAARETZ in 2012: The flight took off several hours late. What's my compensation? It depends on the length of the delay. If the delay is at least two hours, the airline must provide food, drinks and email and phone services. Thus you are entitled to the fixed compensation set under the israeli Act mentioned. You could write the airline company demanding reseanoalbe compesation under the general Torts Law.
